A Welcome From The Executive Headteachers
United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child – Article 4
On behalf of the staff and governors may we extend a very warm welcome to you and your family to Gracelands Nursery School. Our vision is to create a stimulating, healthy, happy, secure and inclusive environment which will promote the independent learning process for all. We seek to build upon the experiences each child brings from home.
This is a Local Authority Nursery School staffed by qualified teachers, nursery nurses and support staff, many of whom have obtained additional qualifications.
Gracelands Nursery School opened in 1953 and has a long history of being valued and supported by the local community. Our partnership with other settings and work with parents and families is a particular feature and strength of the school.
The purpose of the website is to provide you with general information about Gracelands Nursery School. We hope you find everything you need and find it helpful in preparing your family before your child starts with us.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing with you the ethos and vision that makes Gracelands such a unique place to be.

THE BIRMINGHAM FEDERATION OF MAINTAINED NURSERY SCHOOLS
We are a part of a federation with 11 other nursery schools in the city. Our aim is to work closely, combine forces and continue to excel in providing excellent nursery education and services for our local communities.
What does this mean?
Our 12 schools will work together to provide quality education and early childhood services. Each school will continue to run locally as they do now, but there will be one executive Governing Body making strategic decisions, with local cluster committees acting for each school. Gracelands Nursery School is clustered with Highfield Nursery School and Adderley Nursery School.
